Installing the elligence Client software without using a CD
If you want to connect to the Data Strategies elligence Demo server across the internet you will need the following tools:
- Internet Explorer version 6.0 or greater. Windows XP includes this but Windows 95/98/ME/2000 do not. You may download Internet Explorer if you need it.
- The elligence client software. You can install this software from any elligence CD, or you can follow these steps instead.
Downloading and Installing the elligence client
- Go into Internet Explorer and enter this address into the Address field:
- When you connect to our server this way, you will be asked what you want to do with this file. Select Open and the program will begin downloading to your workstation.
- When the download is complete, the elligence installation program will start automatically. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
- This should create a shortcut on your Desktop called, Data Strategies elligence. Double-click that shortcut to start elligence.
- You will see a window that looks like this:
- Enter the Operator and Password that were given to you by your elligence salesperson. Enter the server address as shown in the sample above.
- When you have connected, you will be prompted to select a database. Select whatever database your salesperson has assigned to you.
- Continue to work with the system as you like.
